Meet the jeni ro spokesbaby!

Miss Elena Lynn!  Since I make a lot of baby blankets and sell them in my shop, I really wanted to be able to show my blankets in use with a sweet baby all cuddled up in it!  I have gotten some great photos from happy customers but I wanted to be able to show off the blankets currently for sale.

Since my youngest is no longer a baby (sniff sniff) I have been able to borrow my good friend's newest addition.  Elena is only 2 weeks old and the tiniest of things!  We did a quick photo shoot this week and got a few pictures, not as many as I hoped for but it was fun practice.  She decided she wanted to be awake that morning/afternoon so we didn't get any of the sleeping baby pictures - maybe next time!

So grateful to my friend for sharing her pretty little angel!!  I think its kind of fun to say I have a spokesbaby!  hehe  So excited for future photo shoots with this precious one!

Wedding projects part II -- Flower girl dresses!!

After the invitations my next biggest assignment was the flower girl dresses for my baby sister's wedding in June!

I am sooooo happy to say that I finished them over the weekend!  I even got the flower headbands finished as well.  They turned out pretty cute.  I even got a chance to try my daughter's on her - it fit!  She couldn't help but lift up the circle skirt and swish.  I do think I need to make slips for the girls - with some fluffy tulle for added umph! so that is on the to do list still.

I can't wait to get professional pictures of the girls in the dresses - for now my home shots will have to do!
Three little flower girl dresses all in a row!

The back of the dress, with a big coral bow!

Sweet fluffy coral flower headbands to bring the color up!

I have the flower girl baskets all cut out - lots and lots of pieces and layers!
I found this cute pattern from Birdsong Patterns on etsy!  I think the girls will love them and they will be the perfect finishing touch to their sweet flower girl outfits!

So still plenty to work on - but at least a major to do has been checked off the list!  Ahhhh!!!

April = Wedding projects!

My baby sister (I have two little sisters) is getting married in June!  I have been tasked with designing the invitations, making the flower girl dresses (3 of them) and pretty much whatever else she needs me to do.  My middle sister and I are also working on a bridal shower at the beginning of May - so April is all about the Wedding!!

Most of the stuff I can't reveal until after or closer to the wedding - but I can share some sneak peeks and my work in progress.

We kicked the month off with the wedding invites!  My baby sister and her friend came up for a night and we cranked them out!  Printing, cutting, sewing, building - all of it in less than 24 hours - we ROCKED!!  They turned out sooo cute!  I can't do a big reveal just yet (at least until after everyone gets them) but here is sneak peek of us working!
The bride busy working on her invites!
K busy addressing rsvp envelopes!
Me busy sewing pockets onto the invitation bases!
I promise I will share the final invite design, etc.  I am kinda proud of them, and the bride loves them, so that is all that matters!

Next up - Flower Girl dresses!!  I am making 3 of them.  2T for her fiancee's niece, 5 for my daughter and 6 for my middle sister's daughter.  The bride chose a crinkle taffeta (or acetate, can't remember what the name is) in ivory which is very cool but I haven't worked with that type of fabric before - thankfully its going okay!  It will have a coral sash - since her colors are turquoise and coral with a little yellow thrown in - it will be sooo gorgeous!  I found this cute twirly dress pattern from Petite Kids Boutique on etsy.  I also plan on making accessories to match!  Oh and of course the ring pillow too!

And last but not least this month - the Bridal shower!!  I am so excited for this but still have a lot to do - lots of ideas running through my head though!  At least the invite went out - I had a blast designing it in the chalkboard look that is so popular right now!  I will share all the details on this too - soon!!

.... so I have a lot of work to do this month!  Better get back to it!  More wedding (and bridal shower) stuff to come soon!

Custom Baby Blankets and More

I am due to deliver a custom order this weekend when I head to my hometown for Easter.  A friend ordered 2 blankets and a crib skirt for her soon to be born granddaughter.

I actually met the mom to be at the fabric store back in February so she could chose the blanket and skirt fabric.  She chose the yummiest, softest cheetah minky for the blankets - accented with pink and brown.  The colors are so pretty and the fabric is so soft it seriously is hard to stop touching it!  The pictures honestly do not do them justice, you have to touch them!  This is going to be one cozy baby!
She wanted pink and brown for the crib skirt, so I helped her choose the fabric.  We chose the pink from one of my favorite lines from Michael Miller.  I thought is was called Fairy Frost but now that I search for it - its actually called Mirror Ball Dot.  It is just so pretty and fancy.  We found a nice chocolate brown solid for an accent on the bottom of the skirt.  I only took a picture of the finished crib skirt over my ironing board, but I am excited to see a picture of it on her crib!  It turned out so pretty!!
My baby gift for the Mom to be is this cute cute ribbon owl - it has the cheetah minky on the back and is so cozy.  If my son or daughter had this critter they would have it permanently attached to their cheek!

So fun to create something special and unique for a lucky baby girl and Mommy!!

Easter goodie - Free Printable

My daughter's preschool Easter party is on Thursday this week.  The parents all volunteer to bring food for the party - mostly snacky things, but I saw the cutest idea on Pinterest and just had to throw it together for the party.  So if you are looking for an Easter goody/gifty for classmates, friends, neighbors - this one is perfect!  I have been loving creating my own printables lately - so I made my own bag topper.

So easy to put together - you can go to the store tomorrow and whip it out in a naptime - just in time for that school party before the end of the week!  Or deliver them to friends and neighbors Easter weekend or at Easter service!

I am sure most people don't need instructions but just in case here is a quick graphic!

Here is the FREE bag topper printable!  Just click the image below and download!  Enjoy!

Easter outfits

I found a fun springy fabric at Joann's a while ago and knew that it would be perfect for an Easter dress for my daughter.  I thought I was going to use a pattern that I had but decided to look for something new.  I found this pattern from Lily Bird Studio for her dress, and I am very happy that I found it.  It was pretty easy to make (I am still relatively new to sewing kids clothes) and the design is super cute - its called the Birthday dress and I could totally see me using it again for her actual Birthday dress!  Don't you just LOVE the little flutter sleeves!  The matching hair clip is pretty cute too - I got a new Kanzashi flower maker by Clover at the Sew Expo!  My daughter liked her dress so much that she would not take it off when we got home from taking pictures/seeing the Easter bunny!  That made me happy!

For my son, I found this pattern from Whimsy Couture.  A cute little pair of overalls!  I loved the example in the chevron pattern so much that I found a tone on tone chevron for my son's too.  I struggled with the snap tape opening (my zipper foot was NOT cooperating) but it got done.  I did have to hem it again after trying it on him - oh and take 3 inches off.  I made him a 2T even though he is only 18 mo. old - but I am glad I did because it fits well in the chest, just too long in the legs.  I think I actually need to take it up another inch!  But he sure looks cute - even if he wasn't the best model at the photo shoot (thanks to JCP Photo).
Here are both kiddos in their Easter outfits!  Not the greatest of smiles but hey they are both looking at the camera!!  Happy Easter (almost)!  These cute outfits are now in their closets waiting for Easter Sunday!!
